Not that simple. Tiki King, Nov.2002 Time goes by with hardly a whisper And I don't feel all that old but it seems like I never draw anymore And you always ask me what's wrong I remember when my father died I sat up on the cliffs Sometimes I see them in the distance And I wish I could be up there But it's not that simple I went and sat on my fathers grave Took him a beer like I sometimes do I told him about how circles close And pretended I wasn't crying Sometimes life seems so big And I am afraid that if I look It will seem too big to carry And I'll want to set it down˛ But it's not that simple Still, time drifts by And I try and stop thinking And I do what I can Just To keep the clocks ticking To pass enough time that I can Sleep in your arms And I want to wake up by the fire And have it smell like Christmas But it's not that simple

No tomorrow 02:54
No tomorrow Words and music, Tiki King 2003 I had a dream that there was no tomorrow I had a dream that there was no today There was only yesterday I had a dream that the sun was dying I had a dream that the moon was king The sky was full of stars Chorus: We all make decisions Our futures get unmade We write and rewrite letters None of this was ever our business I had a dream there were no more windows I had a dream there were no more clocks Just a box of empty tins... I had a dream there was no one laughing I had a dream there was only dust And a crumpled dollar bill (chorus) I had a dream that there was no tomorrow I had a dream that there was no today There was only yesterday

Not time to go. Music and lyrics, Tiki King 2002 It's not time to go Let me get you another drink It's not time to go It's earlier than you think Just relax, at least do your best I know your tired and deserve a rest But it's not time to go Not time to go It's not time to go There's stories still to tell It's not time to go Everything is going oh so well Just relax, at least do your best I know your tired and deserve a rest But it's not time to go Not time to go Just relax, stop worrying about the mess I know your tired and deserve a rest But it's not time to go Not time to go It's not time to go Let me get you another drink It's not time to go It's earlier than you think Just relax, at least do your best I know your tired and deserve a rest But it's not time to go Not time to go

Under shadow of a cloud Words and Music, Tiki King, 2002 You no longer have to wait For the äshadow of a cloud You no longer have to wait For him You no longer have to watch while stars they spin around You no longer have to want For him You no longer have to wait To walk that golden field You no longer have to want For him You no longer have to stand Alone in that golden dream You no longer have to long For him You no longer have to wait For the shadow of a cloud You no longer have to wait For him So take his hand and walk Under shadow of a cloud You no longer have to wait.

We'll Dance 03:52
We'll Dance. (extended Version) Words and Music, Tiki King 2002 Down in Mexico they say, even the dead they have a day And they dance. They dance And in New Orleans I'm told, the ghosts that dance down there are old, But they dance, they dance chorus: Because the words you write and the songs you've sung They do live on and when you're gone They dance, how they dance ŸThe pirate, the poet, the boys in the band They take their muses by the hand And they dance, oh they dance The artist, the writer, the drunkard, the saint Words and music, ink and paint It's a dance, oh it's a dance (chorus) So many people, live in a trance, focused on dying, Really they've died in advance Oh, In advance Inspiration changes minds, show them they're artists And then when it's time, they can dance Oh, they can dance (chorus) Down in Mexico they say even the dead they have a day And they dance, oh they dance And when I die, I hope some day someone will sit on my grave and play And I'll dance, how I'll dance Because the words you write and the songs you've sung They do live on and when you're gone They dance, how they dance And when I die, I hope some day Someone will sit on my grave and play And I'll dance, how I'll dance

about

Tiki King: Monuments EP

1. Not that simple
2. No tomorrow
3. Not time to go (moody version)
4. Under shadow of a cloud
5. We'll Dance. (extended Version)

This is a collection of songs about life and death. I don't think of them so much as "sad" songs, but they are certainly emotional songs. Three (1,2 and 4) are brand new, and two (3 and 5) are new recordings of songs that previously appeared on my other CDs. Part of me would like to explain them, Part of me would not. I think I will let the songs tell the stories, and take you where they may.

Dedicated to my mother and father. The two most influential artists in my life.
